Drª Maria das Graças Moreira Ramos, was born in Feira de Santana/Bahia, has a degree in Fine Arts (1971) and a Degree in Design and Plastic (1974) from the School of Fine Arts/UFBA in Salvador/Bahia/Brazil. He completed his Master’s at the State University School of Visual Arts – Pennsylvania/USA (1980) and a PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Seville/Spain (1997). She has an employment relationship with the Federal University of Bahia, as a Full Professor, of the Department I and of the PPGAV Postgraduate Program in Visual Arts, teaching the discipline Two-Dimensional Research Laboratory and Specialization Course in Art-Education EBA/UFBA and PPGAV -Post-Graduate Program in Visual Arts, where she works as an advisor for masters and doctoral students including students from the University of Valencia where she works as a guest professor in the Masters, participating in judging committees of undergraduate students and professors in the Academic Progression phase of this institution UFBA from the schools of Fine Arts, Music and Theater. As a professor of the Master’s, he has annually developed several Research Projects in Contemporary Art while including his students as collaborators. As an art researcher associated with ANPAP (National Association of Researchers in Plastic Arts), she has been presenting communications at various Congresses, Symposia and Art Meetings, such as ANIAV ? (Asociación Nacional de Investigadores en Artes Visuales) in the city of Valencia ? Spain with the title ?El arte necesario. Artistic research in a crisis context? Her career as a researcher aims to focus on Hybrid Art, adding heteroclite materials and objects to the canvas, giving it three-dimensionality and sometimes a function as in light boxes. She was a pioneer in this technique of electric light on screen support since 1996, she realized this possibility as demonstrated in her PhD thesis in Spain. A member of the Academia de Letras e Artes da Bahia, in 2012 he received the title of Citizen Soteropolitana, granted by the Legislative Assembly of the City of Salvador.
